Wonderful when we can help a friend and make a friend at the same time. While we tout the tastiest kimchi in London.

When our friend, Alex, got in touch to help his wife, MiJi, launch her homemade hustle, we had the good fortune to get involved, helping grow a passion project into a proper business.

You can taste MiJi’s creative spirit in her kimchi. A double bassist who trained for six years in Italy, her Original Twist on the Korean classic is spreading across her adopted London. Onggi is now a staple in fashionable shops and restaurants.

(Onggi offers Untwisted, too, and has so far featured at least four other limited editions and collaborations. We’re counting. And consuming.)

Btw when we can shift a word in time and space, in this case from the Korean language to the London high street, we get the chance to keep it simple and still secure a powerful piece of IP.

Onggi (옹기) is a Korean pottery tradition making jars large and small to store sauces, pastes, and pickled or fermented foods, like kimchi, for daily use. Perfect. True to its origins, full of flavour as a brand.

Find Onggi in the finest kitchens and on the best shelves:
